H.O.P.E. Project Alumni hosted it's first ever softball tournament on July 27th, 2019 and it was a great success with an amazing turn-out! With 7 teams entered to play in the tournament we started our games at 9am and the final and winning game took place at 6pm. El Camino, coached by Mike Kelsey, held strong as undefeated champs all throughout the day until the final championship game at 5pm... but the day wasn't over due to this loss. Because El Camino hadn't lost a game yet they had the chance to come back and play again against Hobbytime, coached by Wade Sell, again. What an amazing come back going into the 6 o'clock hour by El Camino... they took the title of Championship Winner and were gifted with the H.O.P.E. Project Alumni t-shirts as their prize! Hobbytime came in at 2nd place and the Misfits, coached by Brandon Garrett, came in at 3rd place. We had an amazing time with all of the players and teams and we want to thank everyone for all of their assistance with this softball tournament. This was the first time H.O.P.E. Project Alumni had attempted a fundraiser like this, so it was a learning process for those that were coordinating this event and all of the assistance offered was greatly appreciated. We would like to put out a special thanks to Shannon Shockley at Clinton Parks and Rec for all of his assistance with this whole event! From start to finish Shannon helped walk us through the logistics of a softball tournament and for that we are extremely grateful! We would also like to thank all of the team captains for their assistance through out the day along with Ron Pack and James Henneman for umpiring games through out the day. The whole tournament was a wonderful success and we can't wait to do it all again next year!
